According to a credit card study by Sallie Mae, credit card debt among college students has skyrocketed. Much of that debt owes to education expenses, according to the study. About 30 percent charged tuition while 92 percent charged textbooks and school supplies.

STAMFORD -- A woman who pleaded guilty to charging more than $36,000 in personal items on her employer's credit card and bilking area landlords of about $20,000 rent was sentenced Tuesday to serve two years in prison in state Superior Court.
